Frank Kral was struck by a passing freight train last Thursday night about 7 oclock, just south of the city, and injured so badly that he died during the night. John Valis Sr. and Joe Valis Sr., Shiner. Mrs. Kral was a devoted and loyal member of the Catholic church and an honorary member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Society of the K. J. Z. T. Lodge. Members attended the last rites in a body. Death brought release to the suffering of Mrs. Kral, who had been ill a long while. Her malady baffled medical skill and professional nursing. Her serious illness extended over a period of seven months. Two months was spent in the local hospital and the last five months she was confined at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anton Janik. Valis, John W. Valis, Joe Valis Jr. Jim Kral was born in Czechoslovakia and came to America at the age of nineteen. His sister Katie, now Mrs. Frank Baros, accompanied him. He first made his home with the family of his aunt, the Patek family, then began working for the railroad, with which he remained for a long time. In 1. 90. 5 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Valis, and they established their home near the Boundary Line School, where with his family he enjoyed the evening of his life. Five children, with their mother are left to mourn his passing, they are Ernest Kral Mrs. Anton Mary Janik Mrs. Frank A. Lillie Dolezal Mrs. Wm. Annie Kutac all of this community and Mrs. W. A. Emily Kowalik of Panna Maria. Other survivors are fourteen grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Frank Katie Baros of Shiner. His mother and one sister in Europe were not heard of from for some time. Mr. Kral was a man of excellent habits and fine character. His was the soul of honor and his friends and friendships were sacred to him. Today we miss his kindly smile and friendly greeting. He was a devoted husband and kind father, and to his friends the soul of fellowship. He as never too tired to minister to his loved ones or to lend a helping hand to his fellowmen, believing that the man who scatters flowers in the pathway of others, who lets into the dark places of life, the sunshine of human sympathy and happiness, is filling the purpose of life. He was always interested in the welfare of his community. He was a highly valued member of the KJT Society, for many years a trustee of the Kopecky Boundary Line district and also a director of the Shiner Farmers Gin.
